Ok, I have four .avi files and I want to make them into one DVD movie to burn onto a DVD-R disc to play in my Home DVD Player.
The files are one movie which is split into four separate .avi files.

Whats the best step to do this without losing muc of the quality and much time.

The easiest may be a program like VSO DivxToDVD. A freeware version is still available.

Quality is subjective. For better quality you would use a encoder such as TMPGEnc encoder and a authoring program like TMPGEnc DVD Author. There are other similar programs. And you would also have to do some reading. It's all in the 'How to' guides to the left. <<<<

Another invaluable tool is a program like Gspot. It will tell you the actual format of the AVI and it's audio as there are many, many types under that 'AVI' container format.

Would it be possible to just join them and then use Nero Vision to Convert and burn?
    Is this way recommended?
Would the quality be lost during conversion?

    Most likely.

Unfortunately Nero is only any good for burning IMHO.

I'd suggest http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/AVI2DVD.htm , or even DivxToDVD to encode each AVI file to MPEG seperately, THEN join them in your authoring software (I like TMPGEnc DVD Author).

There's more Guides and Tools to the left.
    If in doubt, Google it.
