Looked all over for a version that can handle 720p and 1080i mpeg2 files. No dice. I'd really like a command line version. TIA.

No such thing. If you're looking for software tools to handle HD video, come back in 5 years. The market isn't ready yet. There isn't even a disc delivery medium for HD yet.

Prosumer software is there for HDTV and HDV but today's hardware is inadequate and slow. Hardware acceleration is a real need.
Uncompressed SDI is way expensive.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
