I have been searching a while for a software where I can watch a movie that comes in via the Video-In. For instance from a DVD-player or Video. I have found many programs which can capture/record this signal, but am only interested in watching. Programs which I have tried, which are for capturing, have either stopped working, or only showed a small preview window. I do not have a TV in my small room and I do not intend to get one, DVD movies I can watch directly on the computer, but since my TV-card stopped working, I want to use a DVD-recorder as TV-tuner and send the signal further on to the computer via Video-In. I believe that the new MediaPlayer in Win XP can handle this, unfortunately I am running Win2000.

Does anyone know of a software that works according to my simple wish? If it is freeware it is of course nice, but it would be ok with one that costs a few dollars too.

TheFlyDS is a fairly inexpensive capture program that has a full screen mode with the best de-interlacer built-in that I have seen in such a program.

When you download it there is a short period of time (I forgot how long) where it is usable before it "locks up" and you have to register/buy it.

So it can't hurt to try it.

I think you will be impressed.

This Version of AMCap (http://noeld.com/programs.asp?cat=video) allows full screen viewing and is free.
Don't know how well it will deal with sound though.
Also, make sure that your preview pin settings are set to a high resolution

Thanks for your responses. I have tried both out. The AMCap worked just fine so I guess I will stick with it. TheFlyDS I didn't get running, I might try it again later on.

Haven't used it yet, but another that just came out is CaptureFlux which allows full screen preview.
