I have seen these dvd players that upscale to 1080i or 720p. Is it possible to to burn a dvd that is has a video that is 1920x1080 or 1280x720 and have it displayed in those resolutions on that dvd player. Or does these player just enhance the 720x480. Thanx All.

They enhance the 720x480/576.
If you want a dvd player that supports 1080i/720p build a htpc or get a player that supports mpeg2hd,divxhd/xvidhd/wmvhd

but you can not make a dvd-video, just burn the mpeg2 files as data then.
