Whilst svcd2dvd is converting an avi to a dvd is it ok to minimise the screen and carry on doing other things or will it mess things up in the conversion.

I believe the answer is "yes" since S2D is set to use low priority by ChrissyBoy for just that reason. As a rule, I usually don't do anything when I do conversions, but haven't found any ill effects when I've had to check email, etc whilst it was running.

yes
SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Yes, I do it all the time.
Caveat - if other CPU intnesive programs are running it will slow down
S2D because it runs at a lower priority - but this is good and the way
I would want it to be.
It's just another program using your PC's resources - not to be confused with burning a DVD - that's where you have to not overload the PC and burn a coaster.
