DVB to DIVX/XVID with subtitles

Hi,
I have been recording tvshows and movies on my Dreambox DM7000 and sometimes converted them to Divx using projetx and guardina knot. But now some of my familymembers wants to have subtitles on the Divx movies.

I have been searching for a guide or tutorials for this, but I havent been succesfull. Anybody here who can help?

Please note I also need to sync the subtitles with the movies because i have been using mpegschnitt to cut the movies.

Make srt text subs with substation alpha or subtitle workshop.

Use vobsub to view the avi with subs on your computer. Many standalone divx players also supports srt subs.
