Audio is VBR not CBR. You'll need to convert with AC3 Machine/BeSweet.

Cinephile, I don't know what you mean by VBR on the audio... Do I have to change some settings in smartripper to do this... I use the default the only thing I change in there is the max file from 4000 to 9000 per the tutorial here...
Why do I need to convert the .ac3 file , SpruceUp will accept .ac3 file....if I have to convert ..to what??mp3 or wav.
plz give me more info on this
thanks -
Try demuxing the audio with DVD2AVI and see if you get better results.
I backed up Peter Pan 2 using DVD Decrypter/IFOEDIT and it came out just fine. Unless you need/want the menu and/or other sound tracks, just strip out everything but the main movie and it should fit on a DVD-R (I'm about 95% sure I didn't have to transcode this one). -
EnemyWithin, thanks..I already tried that..I use dvd decryptor..rip vob files..use dvd2avi to demux audio to ac3 use tmpgenc to transcode the movie to get m2v file..import it to spruceup and the same result..
anybody else, have any idea...Iam willing to try it..
I don't really need the menu..I just need the main movie..its for the kids..and with spruceup I can set up chapters to jump from 1 section to another..
thanks -
Did you try just using IFOEDIT to strip out the main movie and sound track? How big are the resulting files? I am pretty sure that I didn't have to transcode this DVD to get the main movie to fit on the DVD-R.

I haven't tried ifoedit yet.....still trying to learn how to use it. Iam still rying to find a good tutorial for it like simple step with screen shots..
I do have the whole movie in my hard drive , like the vob and I do have the m2v and the ac3 file..
just getting errors when importing it to spruceup..
any simple step on how to use ifoedit is sure appreicated
thanks -
I have a tutorial for using IFOEDIT to strip out the main movie in this thread. Go to the 3rd or 4th post.

Audio is Variable Bit Rate and not Constant.
You can use AC3 Machine/BeSweet to convert to CBR which will solve your problem. Alternatively, most of the time the variable bit of the audio is at the very start or the very end so sometimes chopping off the end (credits) of the movie works but is brutal.
Personally I convert to CBR 5.1 unless I can ifoedit the movie.
If I remember, when I did it, I wanted the DTS too so I decided to reauthor. -
cinephile thanks, I'll try that ...
thanks
by the way if this don't work...peterpan on sale at disney store for 10 dollars..
