Ok! Ive now successfully installed ffmpegX and I want to convert these RM files. So, I droped one of the files in the dropzone and waited for about 5 minutes, i realized something was up so I shut the program and then stated it again and added the file and the same thing happened, it froze again.
What do I do?
Thanks in advance.

I suppose you did in fact install reallib, as without it you would get a "No video", "No audio" message in the Summary tab, Source Format section, almost immediately. Without reallib, your source file just wouldn't be recognized as a valid media file.
There are two versions of reallib: The PowerPC version (for Mac G3/G4/G5) and the Intel version (for Macs with Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, or Xeon processors). Unfortunately, the ffmpegX website only lists the PowerPC version, which doesn't work on Intel. The steps outlined to get the Intel version are mentioned in another thread on this forum.
If you already did have the correct version of reallib installed, then perhaps the issue is with your source file.
If the file is very small ( <4 KB), then perhaps it contains just an URL pointer to an online (streaming) video, which ffmpegX may have trouble connecting to. If the file is very small, then try opening it in TextEdit and let us know the content.
