Another way, would be to rip the DVD to your hard drive with DVDDecrypter or DVDFab Decrypter (Easy) and open the VOB's with VideoRedo (Easy editor) and edit. Then reauthor with TMPGEnc DVD Author.Originally Posted by martinvdm

ULead Video Studio 9 will demux a VOB but for AC-3 audio you will need the optional AC-3 plug-in.Originally Posted by martinvdmRecommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

My TIVO unit has a DVD-R(W) drive. So I write my TIVO CAP to a DVD-RW and rip that video to my PC. Sometime I just do a straight copy and other times I use DVD Decrypter (out of habit). I then load the ripped DVD into TDA and cut out the commericals. Reauthor, burn and now I have a DVD without commericals. I guess the critical thing here is that my TIVO unit has a DVD writer.Originally Posted by Denvers Dawgs

If you have a standard DVD VOB, Womble is the best program for editing it. Fire up Womble and choose TOOLS -> CONVERT VIDEO FORMAT and go to BROWSE, type in the name of the VOB (typically VTS_01.VOB or something like that) and then select ALL for video + audio files, then type as output whatever you want, e.g., MYVIDEO.MPG.
Click on SAVE and it converts to MPG format. Then oen the MPG file with wombel and edit, then save.
If you're working with a Tivo file instead of a standard DVD VOB file, there may be differences in the video format, so you'd have to consult a site with specific information on converting from Tivo's mpeg-2 format to standard mpeg-2 format.
