I am getting a top to bottom shadow line sweeping from left to right ( and sometimes right to left ) on screen from both a video source and from my cable source. I am connected via RCA's as suggested. My VCR has no S video out, but I think the cablebox does.
This line is faint and really only jumps out at you during darker moments in the source, but I cannot live with it ( and it should not be there ).
Do I need a shielded RCA? This was very disconcerting.
Also, is dubbing from the DVD to the HD only possible in real time? The manual does not seem to spell thsi out. I made a DVD yesterday and then tried to dub it to the HD to edit it and it began to play in real time.
Lastly, the DVD I made locked up in my home player! Anyone else have compatibility issues? I thought this was one thing I would not have to worry about.
I am a new onwer, only one day so far, but so far I am having more problems than expected. Today I'll try inputting to the HD and making a DVD from that, but just read the post below about freezing issues. I am wondering if I got a machine I can live with.
