I'm not able to view any DVDs on this player that I've made myself. I'm mainly using a Pioneer 531 to burn programs directly from TV or saved on the HDD in the 531 itself. I've also tried taking these DVDs and editing/authoring them on my computer using half a dozen of the guides on this site. I've tried using both DVD-R and DVD-RW discs from 4 different compaines, 3 of them name brands. Yup, I'm finalizing them, even the DVD-RWs. I am able to watch every DVD I create on the Pioneer 531 and on the 3 different comptuers in my house. I've read through the posts on this site dealing with the RV31 and tried the suggestions mentioned in them even those that did not seem to directly deal with my problem. When I burn a disc directly from the Pioneer I get an .IFO file and a .VRO file. The .VRO file is the one I've messed with going to MPG-1, MPG-2, VOB and such. Only thing I haven't tried is going to VCD, I'm really not sure if that requires a specific type of CD though.

Is it possible that I've just managed to somehow get a wide variety of DVD media that are all not compatible with this player? Do I actually need to run them through one of the apps mentioned on this site to find out exactly who manufactures them? Should I mess with the .IFO file?
