    hey e1.... i recently purchased a new computer, a compaq presario sr1221rs, and i have some dvd's i would like to copy from my computer to disc so that i can watch them in my home players... my problem is this, i have dvd+r's, and i can't seem to get it to work, it's like the drive doesn't even recognize the media... i have sonic record now! and burn4free... any information will be extremely helpful, and here's a link to the specs on my cpu----> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?dlc=en&lc=en&product=439485&cc=us&dest_pag...name=c00247511 .... thanks in advance

    Looks like your PC has a 8X burner. All other specs look fine in terms of hardware. On to the software side of things...Sonic Record Now and Burn4Free you need to dump that crap for some more better & free things like DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. Both of these programs are listed on this site under tools. You did not list the brand name of media you attempted to use. Get some good quality discs and life will be good.

    you must forgive my ignorance on this subject.... here are the disc i'm using----> Phillips DVD+R (1-8x) 4.7gb/120 min.

    Try a diiferent brand media. It could be your burner just does not like Phillips.

    thanks alot for those programs, it worked for making an exact copy... what i need to know is how to make a dvd from burned files from limewire?.... most of the files are mpeg and avi... help please
