    hi
i do have sony camcorder dcr-dvd403
it records mpegs with ac3 (2 channel or 6 channel)
if i do transfer those mpegs from mini dvd-rw to HDD
i can play them ok but my dvdplayers can not play those mpegs..
i can see picture but NO SOUND through regular (white-red composite) out connected to TV as i have it always.

player has coaxial and digital out also but i have no receiver...so anybody knows why i do not hear any audio...
liteon specs supports AC3...even in divx...so why not in mpegs???

It is most likely a hardware issue. Sounds like the unit does not expect an mpeg file to contain ac3 audio. Have you contacted liteon to see if it is officially supported in mpeg?

  3. I have a LVD-2002 and it only sends AC3 audio to the digital outputs when playing MPG files.

If you master your MPEG files to a regular movie DVD you will be able to use the analog outputs.
