Just wondering. I've had one for a while now though the first non Gameboy game I've gotten for it is Advance Wars DS. But OH MAN does it kick ass.

Castlevania DS is out tomorrow though and its gonna rule also.

I just got one of these today:

Everbody is out of stock on Mario games so I had to settle for Donkey Kong Country 2. Pretty sweet game. Next up: Dr. Mario.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

Nice, personally I thought they were a bit over priced. I mean $100 for the Micro or $30 more for the nintendo DS.

    But they are pretty sweet.

Advanced Wars, huh? Looks pretty good. I'll look into it.

Yeah, it is kind of too expensive. I thought about the DS since it could also play GBA games but in the end I thought it was just too much system for me. The only reason I got interested in the GB was because a relative had one with Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island.

I bought Advance Wars 2 a little while after getting my GBA and I still play it. I have to finish the last battle with an 'a' rank to unlock Hawke and Sturm.

I've been thinking about getting a DS for Advance Wars DS. It looks as good or better than Advance Wars for the GBA.

Its quite good. The missions that use the 2nd screen (not all do) each add a different element to combat. Sometimes your not in direct control, sometimes you are. Later you have a choice.

Meanwhile the missions that only use one screen add enough oddball new things thrown against you to be just as much fun as a regular game of Advance Wars.

If you get a DS is a must have, if you want a DS and need an excuse this is the excuse. If you dont really want a DS though I wouldn't say run out and buy one just over this game.

Though if you look at the upcoming list of games for it the DS IS gonna be a hot system.

Yeah, I was waiting for something to come out, to give me an excuse to buy one. When I saw the commercial for Advance Wars DS, I got the itch to get one.

Once I knock down some bills, it's definitely on my list of toys to buy.

Any other reccomendations that are currently available?

What I like about handhelds is the portability. I usually play before I go to bed, in bed. My kid hogs the tv and he's not old enough to play games yet. Sometimes we give him a controller and let him think he's playing, but that still limits us to the family friendly genre. Either way, I'd rather play with him while he's awake than play games, so the only open time slot is before bed.

It'll be a lot of fun when he's old enough to really play, though. Then we can challenge my brother and his kids to some tournament stuff.

So far the only NDS game (meaning not just a GBA game) I've really played in Advance Wars and Mario 64.

The post launch game slump that all systems have is just ending for the NDS so its a good time to get one IMO.

I did play Kirby Canvas Curse and it seemed pretty fun if not my type of game.

Castlevania I'm having to stop myself from running out and buying right now. Its in the vein of the other GBA Castlevania game, which means a take off of the side scrolling/rpg style introduced on the PS1. Its gonna rock.

I value my eyeballs too much to buy something like this, which will only lead to harmed eyesite. My thoughts.

I play games on a medium sized tv or not at all.

Your missing out. Alot of classic games have been given new lives on the Portable Nintendo units.

My eyes have never hurt at all with them... however I can't say as much for my hands.

Not really. I have one of those things that let me plug Gameboy games into my SNES. Same for the Playstation.

I'm looking foward to the Revolution, too. If they make the original NES games available, as promised, I'm definitely buying one. When we were kids, my brother and I would play Ice Hockey and Balloon Fight late into the night.

You do know a lot of those games (if not all, I haven't looked at the complete list) are available for the GBA/DS?

Actually the ones in question are DS games only. Not on the normal GBA. This is because in the example of Advance Wars DS it makes use of the 2nd screen in a way that would be ackward at best on a single screen.

I thought two screens were awkward.
Just as bad as having too many buttons, triggers and joysticks/d-pads

PIcked up the new Castlvania game. Its actually a direct sequel to the last on on the GBA. So I'd actually suggest picking THAT one up used first.

Plus apparently if you beat it and you stick both games in you kick a really kick ass item when you start the game. Which sucks cause I beat it but sold it.

Cool game though you absorbe souls like the last one for special abilities but you can also use them to create new more powerful weapons. Also some bosses can only be defeated by using a magic seal. So when you finish him off a screen comes up and you have to actually draw the correct seal (which you had to find earlier) before he dies.

If you fail to draw it correctly combat continues for a while before you get another chance.

    Its pretty wicked.

I still play my original gameboy, why upgrade? Kidding...I'd love a micro or dual, but have other hobbies sucking me dry of money.

    Heck Yeah! Super Game Boy!

I still have this (don't use it as much as I should). I have a Super Nintendo and an XBox hooked up all the time and I really couldn't tell you which one gets used more. Viva la Super Mario Kart!

Dude the Mario Cart DS will be compatible with the world wide network. You'll be able to play the whole world at it.

My one claim to fame between my 4 roommates and I in college was that in the entire 4 years we were there, I was NEVER beaten best two out of 3 at Super Mario Kart (both racing and battle).

It's perhaps my favoritest game EVER! And playing it online would be schweet!
