  1. Is there a codec I can use to transfer video's to DVD which will enable me to get the full film on to the DVD and play on a DVD player and not a PC ( the video's are old movies which are no longer available as VHS or DVD
    Thanks

Umm.... How basic do I need to be? You have a capture card listed on your computer profile. Jsut capture to mpeg2 and set the recording level so it will fit a single layer dvdr or a dual layer disc if you plan to use such a disc (assuming of coures you have a dual layer burner).

Just record the video to the capture card (you may need an anti macrovision adapter if its a hollywood tape). Then use an authoring program like tda to make the dvd structure with menus and whatnot. Then you burn the folders it makes and it will play on most dvd players.

If that wasn't what you were looking for and already know all that please be more specific about your question.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
