Slideshow background music

I'm creating a DVD slideshow that runs about 15 minutes. I'd rather not loop the same mp3 over and over. I want to transition several songs into one mp3 file. Is there a simple way to do this? Thanks.

Use an audio editor that can handle MP3 - preferably one that doesn't convert to uncompressed and then recompresses the final work back to MP3.

I think Audacity and Goldwave are good places to start... There are other tool, but these cost more.

Why? Since this is for a DVD slideshow, the only acceptable audio formats are AC3, MP2, or PCM(48khz WAV). At some point the MP3 is going to have to be converted.

You're right - I could've mentioned the valid audio formats, but I assumed that the OP is using software that takes care of all that when creating the DVD slideshow - they often do.

Thank you, Daemon... I'm so glad I popped in here. I was going to burn the tracks to a cd and then record from my portable with line in having to pull out the PC and get down on my knees with a flashlight to find the right input, then somehow edit out the dead air between tracks. Audigy is awesome. So quick and easy and free. I love you.
