If it is, DVD Fab removed the files for me.
I used DVD Shrink in file mode to open it and process just the movie, with many other method would not work did anyone else have problem with it? And is it wrong to report methods for making backs here about new copy protections schemes by sony, just wondering?

From what I can find, yes. Sony protection. Maybe a new version, but that I don't know. Try the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter if you have problems and see if that works.
If you are backing up owned versions of your own DVD, for your own use only, you have that right in most localities, depends on local law. -
Isn't that particular movie mentioned in the revision history of DVDFab Decrypter?

Redwudz-I wouldn't swear by that. I agree that every locality is different and laws change from district to district. It would be wise to know ones own position first by the region they live in. Its so easy for all of us to fall into a comfort zone and assume it is OK to back up provided i own the original. I do not intend this to be a debate but it is still a point that is raised many many times.
I read an article on this site sometime back that raised a couple of interesting points;
1. Backing up your own copy is perfectly legal provided you own the original.
2. If you later sell the original DVD then you MUST either destroy the back-up copy or pass it on with the original.
3. Backing up your own copy is perfectly legal BUT cracking the encryption to do so is NOT.
Points 1 & 3 totally contradict each other (well almost-very rare to get a DVD now without encryption). I think thats the point i was trying to raise. I know i'm quilty in the past of thinking its OK to do but you just wouldn't think about the encryption implication would you?
Do i know the real answer-NO! Does anyone? I Doubt it! If anyone does know then it would be an interesting thing to know.
Thanks.
