Right forum I hope?
Meritline has these 4 per case DVD cases.
http://www.meritline.com/nesc4in1ovdv.html
They look like they'd be handy to conserve shelf space.
On episodic type video as well as other types of video.
My questions are has anybody used these? Are they any good? Any chance of damaging the DVDs? Do the disc holding mechanisms work reliably?
Are there alternatives or a better vendor. Meritline doesn't seem to have a good reputation here according to some user's posts.
Thanks

I've ordered several things from Meritline without any problems. The cases, though don't meet my expectations.
Try this link for cases: http://www.genesysdtp.com/
I especially love the Ace Cases.
Good Luck! -
Ok, Thanks... Just to feed my curiousity bug what was wromng with those cases? I sort of suspected they might be flimsy due to the pricing.
Going to the link you thoughtfully provided. -
It's tough to remove the discs from the case without bending them a bit. That is a definate NO NO!

Those overlap cases suck.
I prefer the quad (single sized) ones from effectuality.caWant my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Just thought I'd update this.
I just ordered Wednesday from Genesys, 10 each of the 4, 6, 8, & 10 DVD Cases, and 10 of the 6Cd Jewel Cases. Everything arrived the next day Thursday afternoon securely packed in 1 box. No Damage. Why so many ? I'm cheap and buying this way I can save on shipping over multiple orders.
Why Genesys? They were slightly higher per case than LS's effectuality.ca OTOH with the surface shipping Genesys was cheaper and as they were in Connecticut & I'm in New Jersey meaning surface UPS would be overnight it was a no brainer. I was also impressed that when I went to order their page stated that if I was in certain states surface would still be overnight and that choosing a more expensive shipping such as overnight air or 2 day would be a waste.
Some thoughts about the DVD cases. Very easy to remove the disks fom the case, no worries about damaging the disc. Otherwise quality seems the same as standard cases.
The 4 disc case is standard size, the larger ones will need a special template due to the extra width of the spine. For the time being I can waste ink and print 2 covers, set them up in a paper cutter and tape together to cover the extra width. I tried that method with 6 disc case and on the shelf unless I look carefully it just looks like 2 DVDs side by side.
Anyway Just thought I would thank both Lordsmurf and Epicurus8a fro their suggestions. I suspect either would have suited me but overnight for surface price and slightly cheaper too influenced my selection.
So, Thanks -
Glad to help! I'm about ready to place another order myself.
FYI: For the larger case, use legal sized paper. -
I came to the forum to start a thread to see if anyone knew where I could purchase a 2 disc case that didn't have the floppy insert in the center. Scanning through the existing threads, I came across this one. Following Epicurus8a's recommendation I went to the genesysdtp site, and low and behold, exactly what I wanted. Order placed.
Thanks for the help. What did we do previously without the communication the internet provides?

Actually I have bought in the past memorex 2 dvd cases for approx 10$ for a 10 pack at staples or best buy, they sound like what you are describing? One DVD on the front and one on the Back. The Genesys are easier to remove disks from tho. And should be cheaper in quantity.
Deane, in answer to your question I suspect we paid much more and got a less suitable product. -
Now if I could just find the type boxes that hold a 6 DVD set of these cases, the kind utilized by the studios to release box sets, I'd really be happy.
I'm in the midst of a long project to convert family VHS videos to DVD. Each DVD will be in it's own "keep case", with copies for various family members. How nice it would be to package these in box sets like the studios do.
After spending months capturing, editing, color correcting, etc., each video, I'd love to be able to put this last bit of sizzle on the steak.
Dream on.
