Hi Guys,
I've been doing the VCD thing for about a whole 5 hours. After overcoming problems with my MPEG files (thanks to the information on this site) and finally burning my VCD my DVD player doesn't like it. I've now gone through maybe 4 CDRs.
And there is the key. Looking through the information on this site it appears that my player (RCA 5225P) only likes CDRW.
Am I correct in assuming that it's going to be simple to just use a CDRW in my CD Writer (and I'm unsure if my writer is CD-R or CD-RW)? If my drive is only CDR will it stil be able to write to the CDRW but just not re-write to it?
Thanks!

Lets start with you giving us your CD Writer name so we can figure out if it can do both CDR and CDRW, as for your DVD Player, personaly I think it's rather waste of CDRW media to burn movies on them, unless you only do things for temporary usage, then CDRW is perfect.

OK the player is an HP and I looked at the front and it says CDRW
I should have done that earlier. I'm using Nero 5.5 and my DVD is an RCA5225p. I just burnt a disc and the player won't read it.. That was a verbatim CDRW. I'm just burning a Memorex CDRW and see if that's any better.... Damn annoying.

Since it's an HP, i'm presuming it's a SurePlus writer or something, any chance there is a number there you can give ?

Some DVD players are real pickey about the CDRW media. I have a JVC and it only reads CDRWs too. So far, I've only found 1 brand and type that it'll read. I've tried many brands without any success (Maxell, Verbatim, etc.)

eyeofbeholder, what model JVC player are you using? Also, what brand of cd-rw media are you using? Thanks in advance.

It's a JVC VX-501BK (I think). Only takes Great Quality brand 4 speed media from Frys. I've read that Memorex and Acer media work, but I haven't tried those.
