I looked in https://www.videohelp.com/guides but couldn't find a guide for this. Apologies if I missed it.

I have a dvd's VIDEO_TS folder, with the usual VOB, BUP, etc. files, on my hard drive. I want to create an AVI file, preferably encoded in XviD.

Is there a guide somewhere for this or could someone give me some help?

    Thanks!

I like AutoGK, use the latest beta and select the .ifo from the video_ts folder.

Well, crap. I keep getting an "Error Parsing IFO File" message from AutoGK when I try to set the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in the "Input File" field.

It plays fine in WMP 10, so any idea why AutoGK won't use it?

    Try the VTS_01_0.IFO file
    If in doubt, Google it.

That worked! It took all night to compile, but that's to be expected, lol. The results were flawless, with excellent video quality and the audio synched perfectly.

I had set it to split the movie into two parts for burning to CDs, but it also made a single file version of the full film, just in case. Nice touch, imo.

Needless to say, I'm a very happy camper. Thanks a lot for all the help, guys!

PS - Just want to give a special thanks to Baldrick for the many tutorials he's posted here. They've been EXTREMELY valuable, so much so that I rarely need to post requests for help. U da Man!
