I love ICE HOCKEY!!!!!!!! (Hockey for short ).

THe 2002 games in UTAH were outstanding. And it was great watching the NHL players on the teams. Yzerman and Chelios for Canada and US respectively were great.

I can't wait for more of the same.

Bring on HOCKEY!!!!! I don't care who wins I just want to see the best of the best of the best beat each other senseless and score lots of goals

  3. Ski jumping!!! Especially the Big Hill, those guys are INSANE!!!

But I love pretty much everything about the Olympics, I plan on watching zillions of hours of coverage. And I don't like sports! I never watch football, baseball, basketball, whatever -- unless it's part of the Olympics, then you can't pull me away from the TV.

I probably won't watch any of the olympics except for a little bit of figure skating (that my wife likes).
And I hate this poll because it takes up too much room on the front page

Hockey. And womens alpine skiing. At least we Swedes have a small chance to medals there. But I'm really not that interested in the OG as a whole.

I picked Biathlon, because I like crazy sports. It's shooting and skiing.

Next I like the Luge and bobsled.

AMD should sponser the Biathlon a Daul core is very much like a BiAthlon.

I like the closing ceremonies (which I don't watch). That way, I know all the hype and crap (and program interruptions) are over for another four years.

All the winter Olympics does for me is remind me I have another 2 - 3 months of ice to look at outside the window. Roll on Spring....

Well, to be fair, if you went to a sport's website and had a poll, "What is your favorite MPEG-2 encoder?" you might get a few stares.

Maybe Ski Jumping due to the "Agony of Defeat" factor. Otherwise I'll watch a little hockey and maybe the downhill skiing. Biathlon would be better if a) All the participants were drunk and b) they shot at each other....now THAT'd be worth watching!
There are many ways to measure success. You just have to find your own yardstick.

Well, there's certainly been a lot of crashing in other winter events at this Olympics, it's dangerous out there! Several luge crashes (with concussions), ski crashes (including broken bones), many falls on the ice during skating ...

Now if New York had the winter Olympics, I could see this easily added to the schedule ... ...

If it snowed in Los Angeles I can guarantee the Americans would take gold, silver, and bronze in this one!

P.S. I'm a native Los Angelino so no offense against my wonderful home town.

I'm going to have to agree. This whole sports fan thing is just completely annoying. It's not the sports I can't totally stand, it's the damn fans... and who cares about some guy who makes 20 million dollars a year hitting a ball?

These fans who say things like "we won" or "my team" drive me completely insane. What the hell? Were you there? Were you the one that had your knee hyperextended? I don't believe so. I don't believe you woke up the next morning covered in bruises following the previous night's game (unless it was Manchester United soccer match).

Put your stupid little jerseys away and your stupid foam fingers and go home!

What is up with that anyway? This whole thing with wearing a jersey for "your team" with some other guy's name on it?

Another thing... what is up with this fantasy football crap? This is played by the same guys that used to beat up kids in high school who played D & D. The only difference is that usually the guys playing D & D had at least a double digit IQ.

While I think quality athletes are quite amazing, I don't believe they deserve the ridiculous amounts of cash showered on them or the ridiculous fan-boy praise showered upon them (they are not role models eithers. That's what parents are for.).

Oh, by the way... Curling has to be the most ridiculous, none-sport I have ever seen. Watching a PBS program on Hydra reproduction would be more exciting. It is the only "sport" where a janitor can actually play and do well. What happens at the end of the day? Do the guys who lose use those little brooms to clean up the arena?

What's next as a sport? Ballroom dancing?

  30. Yeah, can't stand "sports fans", the really obnoxious ones. The ones that misbehave, they're contemptible. I feel it's degrading to even see them on the news.

Curling, hey. It's great to kinda half watch it on the sofa, take a nap, wake up. You find you didn't miss much. It's soothing.
