    Hello,

    anyone, who might help:
Just recently I had to do a clean install of my PC. Now suddenly, after installing Procoder 2 again, it installs 'successfully...', but I cannot make it start.

The splashscreen appears, in the bottom left-hand corner the loading/loaded components are schown, than suddenly - while "Loading Sharpen" is on - the start-up breaks off, the splashscreen disappears and nothing else happens. No error-message, nothing.

Is there perhaps any known conflict producing this error? I have only found one hint on the net, in Russian language...

Does anybody know perhabs about some software that would run in the background during Procoder's start-up and report on the error that occurs?

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Hey there,

got an answer from canopus-customer service:
the problem seems to pertain to the "DEP" of Windows XP, that is "data execution prevention", their answer quoted:

"In case you have a CPU/OS combination which supports DEP: Please make sure the NX bit/DEP in Windows is disabled, this version conflicts with this mechanism. A solution is in the works.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
    2. Click the Advanced tab. Then, under Performance, click Settings.
    3. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
    4. Click Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only

Otherwise: just vanishes is typically a matter of DirectShow codecs misbehaving and crashing during enumeration. Something like the Nemo codec pack or the likes are often causing this."

I hope this helps those that might still be looking arund for a solution.

I thought that was the default setting in XP?
