Sima Video Enhancer

I am interested in buying a
Video Enhancer. Sima has three Video Enhancers; GoDVD! ( CT-2), GoDVD ( CT-200) and ColorCorrector 2 ( SCC-2) Which one would you guys recommend. Or is their something better than Sima on the market. I would like to back up my store bought DVD's and tapes. Thanks

gshelley and lordsmurf know their stuff. The Elite BVP-4 is absurd overkill for home video work, however. I use a simple Sima EditMaster Plus proc amp and a Vidicraft Detailer III video enhancer. The Vidicraft Detailer III or Detailer IV (no longer sold new, but available used on ebay) or the Sign DR-1000 are generally recognized as the best video enhancers on the market. I used to have a Sima video enahcner but dumped it for the Detailer III from ebay.

For a "color filter" device, Vidicraft Proc Amp for about $50 off eBay will get the job done. BVP-4 will be overkill for non-advanced users, especially if you don't know what you're doing (can actually make video worse).

If you are simply looking for a way to defeat the anti-copy device in store bought VHS and DVD, then the GoDVD (CT-2) should do the job. Try ebay. Should get it for around $50 or so.

I went and got one of these. It does do away with the copy protection but I get a green wide bar at the top of the video. comes and goes.

I need some help connecting my Sima Color Corrector 2 I just received. I have a Panasonic DVD player, go video VCR, and Panasonic DVD recorder. I connected DVD player with S video cable to Sima unit input, VCR with rca cable to Sima unit input. Sima unit output to input
on recorder S video and rca cables. I do not get a tv picture. I can get the Sima menue, but no tv picture. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I am 71 years old and not good at connecting electronics. Thanks

Try unplugging the input you are not using. Not sure whether the SIMA can handle both s-video and composite inputs being plugged in at the same time, even if one of them isn't receiving a signal.
