  4. @BJ_M

why do you thing this bug is related to NTFS ?

    @ssi1975

    HTS crash or stop ?

HTS stop before 100% if you are not using an 5.1 AC3 stream
    (2.0 stream for example).

maybe his wav file is larger than the max win32 file system allows -- i was thinking

  6. Hi yall,

I've just discovered this tool HT v3.0.4 but haven't been able to use it successfully (WinXP Home/NTFS). I'm having the same problem as reported by ssi1975 when trying to convert AC3 files into 6 mono WAVs.

HT simply stops at about 33.33% everytime. The AC3 file is a valid 5.1 stream as I have been able to remux and produce VOB files with DD 5.1 sound.

I don't claim to understand all those different codecs/DS Filters, the following is shown on HT's DS Filter Graph section:
    File Source (Async)
    AC3 Parser Filter
    Moonlight Odio Dekoda
    Hypercube Wrapper

I haven't been able to use it with DTS files either. When I load a DTS file, it gives an error message, "Unable to connect graph to Hypercube, Filter Ligos MPEG Splitter have been replaced by Hypercube Wrapper. You have to terminate the graph yourself, connecting the right filter to Hypercube Wrapper."

I checked and the Ligos MPEG Splitter (and DTSWAVSource) is installed. All this is very confusing as I don't understand what DS Filters are required for it to work.

Anyone out there who has successfully used HT with AC3 and/or DTS files, please offer your kind suggestions. Your help would be much appreciated as I'm getting very frustrated being unable to utilise such an amazing tool with great potential!

    Many thanks in advance.

  7. Hi,

    1. the 33.33% pb is related to the incoming audio format in the Hypercube Wrapper filter.
My tool expect 5.1 (6 channels), so verify the input format, maybe your output format from
AC3 Parser Filter is not 6 channels ???

    2. you have to use Intervideo Filters to decode DTS

  8. I'm actually having this same problem now. My source isn't 5.1 (Dolby Surround) and when i listen to the sound file that comes out, it's all sped up (we're talking massively). Does this program only work with 5.1 stuff? What would I use for Dolby Surround material?

  9. there is a "guide" on my site for DOlby Surround, using Intervideo filters you should be able to decode Prologic II....

and can you give me a link to this guide?

fyi...i'm making a DVD, not SVCD.

  11. Have you perhaps reached the 2 Gibibyte limit of the WAV format?
The WAV format is limited to files that are less than 2 GiB in size, due to the way its 32-bit file size header is read by most programs.

I thought you're not supposed to use 32-bit?

oh and btw...the whole audio file is there...it just sounds RIDICULOUSLY sped up.

And I've also learned that my initial belief was right and Hypercube's "how to's" don't make any sense. Dolby Surround isn't separate channels but is decoded as opposed to something being ENcoded. 5.1 is totally different. All the information is contained in the stereo tracks. I'll try hypercube's with DD 5.1 material when the time comes and we'll see if I have the same problems.

  13. let me clarify how HT3 works:
    there is 3 stages
1: input (can be 5.1 or stereo dolby surround encoded)
2: decoding of input and channel reordering, this stage work only in 5.1
    3: Encoding

You can put a stereo file encoded in Dolby Surround then use Intervideo Filters to expand this in 5.1 using Dolby Prologic II decoding scheme.
So "stage 2" receive 5.1 channels.

If you use a regular stereo file, not dolby surround encoded, it cannot be used in HT3. SO HT3 does not support stereo AC3, stereo DTS ...

if "stage 2" does not receive 5.1 stream, HT3 stop at 33%

    33.3333% of 6 channels = 2

  14. how does one turn on the "intervideo" filters?

  15. install Intervideo WinDVD.
HT3 use the automatic graph building from directshow.
So May be other filters will be used.
may be you have to build the DirectShow graph yourself. If you know
how to use graphedit, this is the same thing.

  16. enh. forget it. AC3Tool is much easier.

Just tried using it on a file with legitimate 5.1 and same thing. All sped-up and stops at 33%. What a crap system. AC3Tool worked perfectly...it just doesn't name the files.

  18. >What a crap system
    thanks digitalfreaknyc.
I hope you never say it again after
    - learning C++
    - learning Visual C++
    - learning DCOM model
    - learning DirectShow API
    - learning ISO specifications like ISO-IEC 13818
    - ...

You should never say stuff like this on any developper, because they
do a lot of hard work and they put their soft to the community for free !
You think like a stupid customer like I met in my Job. May be some
hours in front of a C++ debugger should make you more clever.
    may be...

I tried a line counter especially to highlight your mind:
    think a freeware like HT3 contain :

8715 line of pure code (without counting comments and empty lines)
    (13079 line for the entire)

if you think theses 8715 lines are a crapy system, so tell me
    what's wrong in these.

  19. Although I'm sure your work is appreciated, the program completely doesn't work...at least for me. It's also not as easy as others are as well. If it did what it said it would, it would be a different story but it constantly freezes.
