Hi. Apologies if this question has already been answered somewhere but I didn't find it. Please just point me in the right direction if it has.

I have an S-Video out on my laptop and bought an S-Video to RCA cable to plug it into my TV. This all works fine but when I play a video file with Media Player 10, the media file appears as a blank picture on my TV. It's fine on the laptop and the rest of the laptop screen appears on the TV but the Media Window is blank on the TV. I'm lost for an explanation.

Appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks.

You haven't set the overlay settings on your laptop. It will be in your Display settings, exactly where will depend on the graphics chipset your laptop has.

S-Video is usually set to either window the Laptop LCD desktop or act as a second monitor under XP.

Settings are under display properties - advanced and vary by graphics chipset. See your manual for exact settings.

Thanks edDV and Richard_G. I fiddled with those settings and got things going.
