  1. I have an avi anime video that I would like to view on my TV via the Sigma Design XCard. Unfortunately, because the video is an opendml video, it's unwatchable on the XCard. I later found out here that by using Nandub, I could re-encode the avi....which I did.....and with some success.

The video is watchable and there's no problem with the audio. But there are no subtitles. In the original avi, the subtitles are the switchable type. When I use Window or The Core Media Player, the directvobsub icon appears on the right side of the taskbar. When I play the re-encoded video, the directvobsub icon did not appear. Note that the original avi did not come with a separate .srt file. Also, the video is an XVID Mpeg-4 video with a Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 codec. (audio).

So, how can take this opendml avi and turn it into a non-opendml avi while still keeping the subtitles intact.

    Thanks.

Use AVIMuxGUI with the standalone mp3 profile. It should detect the subtitle stream fine and that profile disables Opendml. You can also extract the subs if you would rather have them as an external file.

  3. Celtic Druid,

Thanks for the help. I'll take a look at AVIMuxGUI.
