    Walgreens has Maxell 8x -R and +R in spindles of 30 for $9.99 this week. If you get lucky they might be the ones made in Japan.

    I was over at the local Walgreen's anyway, so I checked them out. They were all "made in Taiwan".

    For this price...absolutely no deal. I can get Japanese Yuden discs from Rima and save the gas money for the same money. I am through with the days of shuffling through stacks of crap looking for one Japanese spindle.

    No dice (but thanks for the post anyway, it was worth a try)
