  1. Hi,

This is the first time I tried doing something like this, so please bare with me.

I have copied a video to DVD using my DVD recorder. I now want to use my computer to put a nice DVD menu on the DVD etc.

I have looked at the structure of the DVD and there are a few files on there, and 4 .Vob files which I am assuming contain the movie.

I have been playing with TmpGenc Mpeg trying to get that to read in the files, which it can do but it fails with the audio, stating that it can only support MPEG-Audio, Linear PCM. It cannot even recognise the format.

    Am I missing something?

I am assuming I need one large mpeg file that I can feed into a DVD authoring tool, so that I can add the menu etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    -Graham

The audio is probably AC3. Tmpgenc is not an authoring program, but an encoder. Tmpgenc DVD Author is what you need to look into. You can then attach the vobs you (add movie ?), create a menu, compile and burn.

Yep, use TMPGEnc DVD Author (30 day fully functional free trial), and after creating a new project, press the "Add DVD Video" button. Point it to your VIDEO_TS folder on your disc. If you only have one title on the disc then it will automatically load it up for you, otherwise it will ask you to select which title you want to import. Configure your menu, chapters etc etc to taste then output and burn.
    If in doubt, Google it.
