  1. Having trouble backing up the new release DVD Brown Bunny released by Sony. Something new here -- similar to some CD's -- when i plug the movie into my DVD drive on my computer i get an intro screen that prompts me to hit play on my DVD player. But Power DVD says it is in unsupported format and Media Player won't even attempt to open it so i can't unlock drive. Can anyone tell me what is going on here? I've been out of the loop -- is this a sony incryption thing? Any help appreciated.

  3. i can play it fine on my stand alone DVD player. I can describe it no better than this: when you sick a CD into your car stereo it plays fine, but the same CD (sometimes) you plug into a computer CD player and you get a promt screen instead of jsut going auto play. Everytime i see that damn screen with a CD i know i'm screwed (though i haven't tried too hard to hunt down the problem there -- first encountered with Velvet Revlover's CD), but this is EXACTLY the same. Something put out by the company not a faulty DVD.

  6. i not so much concerned about playing the movie as I am that i got the prompt screen. it was put out by Sony -- logo, graphics, etc. it is part of the DVD. But it dosn't show on my stand alone, though, Surely, someone has encountered this before.

turn off your autoplay or hold the shift key down when inserting disk

there is a dvd player on the disk and some other crap i recall - but if you just turn off autoplay , you can play it as a normal dvd
