What audio stream types are on the DVD ? (LPCM (WAV), AC3, MPEG-1 Layer 2)

Do you have an AC3 codec installed ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. And maybe you grabbed the DTS by mistake. If so, you'll need a filter for that as well.

In DVD Shrink I see 3 audio streams:

    1. DTS 5.1-ch English
    2. AC3 5.1-ch English
    3. AC3 5.1-ch French

Usually I do preview movie in DVD Shrink, but the problem is that this time I can NOT hear any sound. Not even in DVD Shrink! Not even with all audio streams selected!

I suspect that something wrong went during decrypting. But what?
    What do you think?

    TIA

PS. Sometimes, and its only sometimes and very rare, DVD Shrink does not have sound. So I burn it anyway and its all good after all.

Try right-clicking on the preview window, and make sure you've got the correct audio stream selected:

... and make sure you've got an AC3 Codec isntalled, or a DTS filter.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Just tried it with my official USA NTSC DVD of SIN CITY and there is no sound in DVDShrink but at just over 2 hours I'm using CCE SP for my back-up.

I never actually did more than the "preview" in DVDShrink so maybe it is OK if you back it up, burn it and play it?

    *** UPDATE ***

There is nothing to worry about here.

Out of curiosity I backed up SIN CITY with DVDShrink using Re-Author mode (movie only with 5.1 AC-3 English all other language and subtitles tracks removed) and the resulting final output has audio.

So this one just has no audio in preview mode.

And yes I did do a complete FILE rip with DVD Decrypter.

    thanks ppl, jimmalenko and FulciLives,

That "right-clicking on the preview window" and "selecting correct audio stream" worked just like charm.

Plus, I even was able to hear sound in DVD Shrink

    Thanks again,

PS. Movie is not THAT bad either!
