    Hi,
I am sure that this topic has been already treated in this forum ( apologiza for that).
I should make a backup of dvds containing films: which is the best among dvd-R and +R?
And what is the fastest and best software to make this backup?
    Thanks for the reply

    Fabio

Speed depends on your machine and burning equipment specs.

-r or +r has been reduced to a preference. There are some external players that don't like +r's, but there are also just as many older machines that don't like -r's. Use what works for you.

Because with my search function I cannot find the right answer .
I really appreciate this forum because there is a part for newbies; why instead of losing your time with such a polemical reply you didn't get a simple response ( or skipped my post)?
I hope that someone will repeat himself(???))

No worries. That's an inherent problem of search functions. You know what you want, yet you have to use keywords sometimes that aren't exactly what you want in order to get the information your requesting. When all else fails, simply ask. Some may decry the search engine as the holiest grail, but I've found them(the search engine) to be nominally functional at best.

Software: DVD Decryptor for ripping, DVD shrink for compression if needed, Nero for burning.

+ or - R depends on what works with your standalone
