I'm having trouble getting the audio to play when I used Mainconcept Encoder to convert the movie to dvd format. I used the Elemen Video and Audio settings. Which left me with a .mpv file and .mpa file. From there I load the files into DVDLab Pro. Did all my menus and other stuff. After I finish compiling it I first tried it on my computer with PowerDVD. Seems like audio is not playing it all.

This is what my audio is in AVICodec

    Audio : 115 MB, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported
Am I supposed to converted to some other format? Or is it leaving it at MPEG Layer-3 not recommended?

If I'm not mistaken, Canada uses the NTSC format. A NTSC format DVD must have either Linear PCM (LPCM) or AC3 (Dolby Digital) as one of the audio formats. Once you satisfy that requirement, your disk can have more LPCM, AC3, or DTS audio tracks. MP3 is not a supported audio format for DVDs to the best of my knowledge. LPCM audio offers the highest quality as it is not compressed, however it is two channel only and consumes approximatey 1.5 Mbps, which can eat up about a quarter to a third of your DVD.
Tools used: ScenalyzerLive 4.0, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe After Effects 7.0 Professional, Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, IFOedit 0.96, DVD-lab PRO 1.53, Adobe Audition 2.0

Actually MOST NTSC dvd players can handle MP2 only audio. but ac3 is the standard.

And MP3 is NOT supported on any dvd region. You must convert it to pcm or ac3 or mp2 for it to be useable in a dvd.

I just read the Besweet guide to convert it to ac3. Tried it and it seems like the audio is working now. What do you guys usually use to convert the audio?
