You can always hit the Windows "Print Screen" keyboard button (or "Alt print Screen" for the window in focus, if there is more than one window open). This puts the screen/window into your clipboard. Then you can paste it into Microsoft Paint or some other graphic editing program and save it as bmp or jpeg or whatever.

Load the .pdf into Acrobat, go to FILE > SAVE AS... you have a few options other than .pdf. The .png format looks pretty good.

That works if you have a later version of Adobe Acrobat. If you have Acrobat 4 or earlier, you are limited to PDF only. With Acrobat 4, you also cannot save an individual page of a multi-page document. You have to export a PDF page and then operate on it as a separate PDF file. I am not sure about "saving as" individual pages for Acrobat 5 or higher, but you can still export. The "Save as" is more versatile in higher versions, and with Acrobat 7 you can save as a *lot* of file types.

If you only have Acrobat Reader, the "Print Screen" method works better.

If you have Photoshop 7, 8 or 9 (8 & 9 are called CS and CS2, respectively), you can go under File...Import Image from PDF... then select and import the image you want, then save it as whatever filetype you wish.

You can use OmniFormat to convert pdf to many graphics formats such as gif, jpg, bmp, png, etc.

OmniFormat is free for use, with a nagware web site popping up in a browser when you start it. Or, you can purchase it for very, very little.
