    I keep getting "Media not ready" error message when I try burning anything (data, home movies, etc.) What could be problem? All replies welcome.

    PC:

    EMachines W2646 w/
    Intel Celeron 2.59
    1 GB memory
    80 GB Maxtor 6Y080P0
    Sony DRU-710A
    Intel Extreme Graphics 845GV
    KDS VisualSensation monitor

    media used:

    TDK DVD-R 8X 4.7 GB discs

    Check your media with dvdinfopro and compare the media code to compatibility charts on this site. If you can't even read the code with dvdinfopro then there could be other issues. What software are you burning with?
