    Is there anyway to author a movie with a white border instead of black for a widescreen movie?

    The short answer is no, because the borders are added by the player and you have no control over them.

    However, if you author as letterbox 4:3 (that is, a widescreen image in a 4:3 aspect ratio), you can make the borders whatever colour you want them to be.
