I have downloaded a video in 2 files combined them togerther in virtual dub and then used vso divx to dvd to make it dvd compatable. When converted burned to dvd and when playing in a standalone player I get this disc is not compatable in this region. Any fixes or ways around this problem. Thanx Al.

It will be a PAL/NTSC problem - most likely you downloaded PAL files, and your player cannot play PAL. The fix is to convert to NTSC, or get a multisystem-capable player.
    If in doubt, Google it.

any encoding software can do it. It's been done to death in the forums - do a search. There's also a number of guides in the Guides section.
    If in doubt, Google it.

DivxtoDVD can do it for you. There is an option for botht he TV system (format) and aspect ratio. By default these are set to auto, so PAL goes in then PAL comes out. Just change Auto to NTSC from the drop down and away you go.
