i had some files on external HD and i cut and pasted them to internal HD, something about "move read only file" appeared so i clicked no.
the pasting stopped and a few files have disappeared.
i should of maybe pasted again as they would still of been on clipboard?
but i did system restore (stupid?)
ok i know i should of copied and pasted but i didn't.
the folders are still there but contents not.
can i recover them or have i made an absolute @rse of things yet again![]()
EDIT: i've just found them, i partitioned internal HD and got mixed up where i put them, and i'm sober!
but did learn it is better to copy then delete rather than cut coz if power goes off when u cut u have lost those files.

For future reference, you can recover files from HDD even if you delete them providing they haven't been overwritten.
