  1. I am looking for suggestions as I am looking for a DVD Recorder with a Hard Drive.I pressently have a Panasonic DMR E-85.I am looking for something comperable with an 80-100gb Harddrive.If you can help me out that would be great.Looking for a reasonable priced unit as well to shop for one.

    Pioneer has a couple of new models that seem pretty darn awesome.

    The 531/533 which has an 80GB HDD and then the 633 which has a 160GB HDD

    One incredible nice feature is the XP+ mode. It records to the HDD at 15,000kbps then you edit out stuff etc. then it will do a re-encode to the DVD-R disc using (I believe) a 2-pass method ala software recording.

    No reports yet on how well that works but in theory it kicks ass.
