  1. I've finally managed to make nice dvds myself, but there is a last thing I really can't figure out myself.
I have a movie with a 2.0 dolby sound, and I would really make it a 5.1 sound but whenever I try to convert it (with dvd-lab or Ulaed) it just stays 2.1 ...
Is there really a way to make it 6 channeled?

You can make a fake 5.1 track with Vegas. I've yet to be able to find a way to import 2.x AC-3 into Vegas for 5.1. I've always had to convert to 2.x to .wav then import into Vegas to render as 5.1. It sounds nice, but's it's not really 5.1.

You will probably get better results leaving it as 2.0 and playing back through a doblby pro-logic II amp than trying to create a 5.1 mix from a stereo source.

  4. Does a multitracking program exist that will import an AC3 file in its native 5.1 format? Vegas doesn't, Cubase doesn't, Nuendo doesn't (even though it comes with a Doloby encoder, it won't decode).
