Ave,
I'm planning on purchasing an AMD based laptop soon. My budget is between $1,000 - $1,500. I have been looking into the HP Zv6000 series which looks pretty good. The problem is, i'm not very experienced with notebooks and there might be other companies which offer good AMD based laptops in the price range i'm looking for.
At approx. $1,500 .. the HP Zv6000 i'm looking at is giving me:
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2.4 Ghz/1MB L2)
1 GB DDR Memory
100 GB HDD
Wi-Fi Lan (54g 802.11 b/g)
ATI Radeon X800 128 MB Video
Creative Audio
15.4" WXGA
8x DVD Dual Layer DVD Burner
.. and the usual.
Looks like a pretty good deal to me. I'm not sure what is the difference between Turion 64 & Athlon 64, performance wise, but i can't find Turion 64 notebooks with 15.4 Screen size or higher, so i'm not going to bother. Besides i've worked with Athlon 64 quite a bit and love it's performance.
If anyone can suggest any other brand or notebook shop wherein i can find similar or better config for similar or lower price, i'd really appreciate it. I really don't have any preferences in brand names, i just want the best configuration for most economical price.
Thanks,
Mickey
