I have CCE and am wanting to encode 6 28 min xvid files to mpg format so I can use DVD workshop to author them and burn to DVD. I have used CCE by itself to do this and it seems to be hit and miss as to whether the video and audio will be in sync so what I was wondering is what would be the best way for me to encode these files so the audio will be in sync everytime.

If CCE is good enough to do this by itself what settings would be best for this.

I have tried avi2dvd but I can not get CCE to work with it as it gives some bitcount 12 not supported error and the built in encoder is way to slow.

I also need to make sure the bitrate is set to a point were all 6 30 min videos will be able to fit on 1 dvd.
