Was told last night to not go home early as my boss wants to see my overnight co worker and myself in the morning.
Then he gets here, goes to a meeting with the rest of management. Gets out ask us to stay until 9am for a meeting and won't reveal details.
Now I know there has been talk of moving locations but... I dunno the way this is happening seems more like when we have lay offs.
Kinda a freaky morning.

Well I hope layoffs isnt what they are having in mind...I can sure understand how nervewrecking that can be making you stay around like that. Folks like this thinks its funny when they put someone's employment on the line like that in making them really nervous. Hope all works out for the best.
VTMI have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful. -

Hope is all ok but I'd suspect a change in shift hours
before a job loss. The whole call support industry world
wide seems to be changing to "Indian hours" aka 10-12hr shifts
with 30min max "personal time". -
Ok, still have a job. And what was happening was building wide, the "stay until I get there" part also included a coworker who should not currently be in ANY trouble so I did nto suspect anything like changing hours or getting fired for anything I'd done.
Basicly they are moving our job, we've expected it for some time but where and when been up in the air since Dec.
Bad news: going to the originally mentioned site, on the OTHER side of Dallas thats even further from my home.
Good news: they are offering a bonus to anyone who makes the transition and stays until at least April.
so hey I'll stay until at least april. -
pleased to hear it and at least you can enjoy the weekend now with your bonus coming 8)
how much extra travelling time is it though? I used to be 4 minutes from work, so that's max 10 mins there and back. Some guys had an hour trip so that's 2 hours there and back which equates to an extra 40 hours a month compared to mine which was less than 4 hrs
difference of 36 hrs travelling is an extra working week in my eyes
add into that the extra petrol paid and some even paid tunnel fees then they were getting substantially less per hour compared to me from leaving the house to go to work and then getting back home -
