    Hello,

I'm trying to copy on a DVD-RW something recorded on the hard disk. I use a old DVD-RW Nashua Version 1.1 (1X) and I finalized the disc after the record.

Problem is I'm not able to read this disc on a DVD Player. I tried on 2 Sony's and on one LG. No success, it's only read by the Pioneer DVR 520.

Do you think it's because the DVD-RW is too old ? Is there any compatibility problem with the Pioneer ?

It is likely you used the Pioneer's default for initializing DVD-RW discs. The default is to record in VR mode which is not readable (even after finalizing) with most DVD recorders or computers. You need to go to the Disc Setup menu and initialize the disc in Video mode. Then copy your video to the DVD-RW and finalize.

You can change the default initialization of DVD-RW media using the Initial Setup menu.

    Ok, I have bought TDK DVD-RW ver 2.1 2X
I have the same problem in Video or DVD mode : the DVD-RW is not readable on my old Sony 325. I didn't yet tested on others players but I'm not optimist.
