Don’t look at this, it will only depress you. It will
especially depress you if you compare your salary
with other big money makers that they have so
conveniently supplied on this page.

Nothing to really be depressed about.....they can have all the money in the world and not take a dime with them when they die. Besides, those guys dont know what REAL work is compared to those who work hard to make a decent living like truckers, construction workers and other fields.
VTMI have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful. -
Now that I know what "real" work is can I have the money?

What would REALLY be depressing would be a utility like that where you entered your gross income ... with two output windows ... one for your post-tax net income and the other showing the taxes you pay.

Have you ever heard of "Tax Freedom Day?" That's the day when the American Tax Foundation believes we've paid our taxes for the year. In short, if Tax Freedom Day fell on May 1st, that would mean every penny you earned before May 1st was swallowed up in a tax (federal, state, county, city, and don't forget "user fees" which are taxes in disguise):
At the risk of getting (shudder) political, see how well Mr. Bush and Congress have decreased our taxes. Sadly, I was unable to find a similar site on the web called "Budget Deficit Freedom Year" ... which would probably be so far into the future it would depress our children and grandchildren. -
