  1. Maybe someone can help me to know if this is possible.

Is there any PC software player that I can use to play Xvid avi to transfer from my PC thru firwire connection to a Datavideo DAC-100 to a firewire conection in my sony DVDR Recorder?

    Thanks

  2. it would probably be alot easier to just use a program like VSO DIVX2DVD to convert and burn it. it's a really simple program and takes only one step to convert to dvd format. then use and burning program to burn the dvd.

  3. Thanks for the recommendation. I had used Diko with excellent results but the conversion takes to much time.

Since my recorder can record in real time with very good quality I was hoping to find a way to use the DAC-100 to transfer the Xvid files from my PC to it.

Does your PC have Video out?

    * Connect the PC video and audio out to the video and audio in on your recorder.
    * Set the resolution of your PC to 800 x 6000.
    * Set your player to full screen, play the video and record in the Sony deck.

No need to use the DAC-100.

  5. DIVX2DVD processes at slighly over 2x speed, so it doesn't take but about an hour or so to convert any movie. much faster than real time and less trouble. it really is a good program and so simple to use.
