I used this "easy guide"
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=221896&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc...444d25ed0d391a
to convert VOB files (40 files of 9GB total) to AVI. The source video is PAL and Interlaced therefore I set FIELD to NONE. I followed the guide literally until the place where I created AVS file in notepad (except that I used the dgmpgdec121 instead of dvd2avi). My code in AVS file is
loadplugin("E:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\MPEG2Dec3.dll")
mpeg2source("mult.d2v")
When I try to open this avs file in either WMP9 or VirtualDub I get the error message "MPEG2Source: couldn't open file (H:\mult.mult.avs, line 2)". This is where I got stuck. Please advise.

Hi-
You have to use the DGDecode.dll that comes with your version of DGIndex, and not the old MPEG2Dec3.dll from some old version of DVD2AVI.
And you might get the more recent version of both (contained in the DGMPEGDec package) from neuron2's site or from the link at this site. That means that you'll have to make a new D2v, though. -
Easy guide?
That guide is a lot of steps and BS for the simple operation it aims to do!
1. Decompile disc, rip in IFO mode in DVD Decrypter.
2. Open MPEG in VirtualDub, add filters if needed (crop, IVTC, etc).
3. If the DVD had multi audio, maybe use VOB EDIT to demux the two streams you want (single audio, single video), then remux the two streams in TMPG to get single file to work with
4. Save AVI, using XVID video compression as the output (AC3 or MP3 fine for audio)
Now THAT'S an "easy guide".Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
