New problem in my quest to use a dvd recorder...

I've captured some vhs to dvd via recorder and when I view the video on my PC using both MPEG Video Wizard and Virtualdub-MPEG, the frames look fantastic, i.e. good color, no blocking. However, when I move from frame to frame I SEEM to be seeing unusual movement (I don't know what else to call it!). I want to call it block-like but not really. This is occurs in both SP and XP modes.

I don't remember this happening with my capture card. Anybody know what's going on?

  2. It sounds as if what you're seeing is interlacing effect.

I wish it WAS the interlace effect. I can't even post the frames here because the "flicker" effects, or large blocks of distortion, don't show up in the frame, only between frames.
