How do I get Encore and Premiere to use Overlay mode?

My video card, like many, supports Overlay Mode. But Encore and Premiere wont use it!?!

With programs like Windows Media Player, my graphics card automatically finds that im viewing video, and sends this thru the TV-out - works well.
Encore and Premiere wont do this! What can I do?

Both support DV monitoring out via IEEE-1394. Just connect your camcorder and use its S-Video or composite out to feed your TV.

Yeah, i knew that... But thats not really what im trying to do. Its an inefficient use of a camcorder. Does anyone know how to get it to go thru the Overlay Mode?

That is Adobe's only suported solution that I am aware.

Vegas v6 added calibration for an external DVD-D or HDMI LCD. Adobe will probably respond in the next upgrade.
