how long does a 2.4x dual layer disc take to burn ??

It will depend on how much Data/Video you wish to put on it !
Some of the new burners can write at 6x to Dual Layer discs depending on firmware/media.

You may want to consider burning single layer discs (unless you really need to use dual layer) as the cost of dual layer discs is ten times the cost of single layer discs.
assuming you use full storage capacity of the dual layer disc, at 2.4X, it will take approx 50 minutes to burn. -
I've burned the Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x discs with DVD Decrypt in about 20min doing a DVD backup of a DL movie. My writer is a Sony DRX-720UL.

you never stated that,so the real time is around 35-40 minutes then.

By the time you are doing this on a regular basis, all of these listed times and specs will have changed. Unless you just have lots of money to burn to buy the blanks at today's prices.
