Is there a reason why we can't take decent pics or decent videos of what is happening on our computer screen? Does anyone have any tips of recording our computer screens? Thanks.

  2. If you're in windows, just use Alt+Print Screen and it will copy your screen to the clipboard. You can paste it in any graphics program, then save it and post it on here.

I used to use a program called camtasia that would make good video's of your desktop or a portion of it that you specify.

You can't take good pictures or video's of your computer monitor because of the refresh rate...the monitor is constantly redrawing itself at a relatively high frequency (measured in hz). Our eyes cannot distinguish this phenomenon but when you introduce a camera you will get bars and other anomalies in the image. The reason it looks so terrible on video is because of the difference between the refresh rate of the monitor and the framerate of the camera..it creates a sort of strobe light effect...you probably notice on tv when they show a computer screen you can see a bar rolling up it...

for just taking a snapshot of your screen use the Print Screen button and paste it in MSPaint or any image editor that will allow you to paste it straight in.
